Late Summer Co-ed Beach Volleyball at Alki Mondays

From one beach to the next, Allison sure does know how to be a team player! As important as it is to save the ball on the court, we are even more grateful for her hard work in saving the animals that are being affected by the oil spill. She shows dedication on and off the court and we can all thank her for that! Great job this week!!

As some may know, the Seattle to Portland bike ride was this past weekend, a 200 mile ride! And our very own Amanda Nelson from 'Multiple Offenders' rode it! Despite what I can only imagine would be an exhausting weekend, Amanda showed up to her 6:30 game on Monday (on her bike of course!) and she didn't miss a beat! Amanda played great out there, way to go!!

Everyone got to the beach with a smile on their face this week, no doubt because our friend the sun decided to make an appearance! This remains true for SMAK, even though they were short players. Despite lacking manpower, the effort put forth on the court easily made up for their lack of teammates. Adrian Galaviz was smacking the ball to say the least; his hits were hard and his hops were high! He wasn't afraid to get down and a little sandy for the ball either. On top of a hard working game, Adrian and his teammates stuck around for the 7:30 game to sub for some Underdoggers in need. Great job!!

Mihak Hagel is a consistent and reliable player and teammate. She truly proved this Monday night when she showed up to the beach the day after doing the Danskin Triathlon! 1/2 mile swim, followed by a 12 mile bike ride, and finished with a 3.1 mile run, this triathlon is quite the feat! To complete that, then come to play volleyball full force the next day is incredibly commendable! Excellent work Mihak, keep it up!!
